With a B.A. in Art Education and an M.F.A. in Surface Pattern Design, Michele's career began in textile design. While raising three boys, she continued designing on a freelance basis and created much of her family's home decor, blending art into daily life. Michele's work is deeply inspired by vintage aesthetics, especially mid-century design, cheerful color palettes and floral patterns. A collector of vintage paint-by -number art, this nostalgic influence is reflected in her clean, vibrant style. She paints primarily with gouache and acrylics, using a hard-edge technique built up in thin, smooth layers. Her goal is to create 'feel good florals' that strike a balance between vintage charm and modern aesthetic. Passionate about the way spaces affect mood, she infuses her art with a sense of joy and cozy optimism.
