About The Artist
A passionate landscape painter for over a decade, Liana Steinmetz draws deep inspiration from the natural world. Raised in Marin County, California, where redwoods meet the ocean and grassy hills roll into the bay, she developed a lifelong connection to both nature and art.
Though she studied Anthropology in college, she initially struggled to find her path in a fast-paced world. It was through time spent outdoors that she found grounding, joy, and a sense of belonging. Painting became her way to express that connection—a spiritual, emotional, and deeply personal tribute to the Earth.
Her plein air works aim to capture the vast, soothing drama of wild landscapes, inviting viewers to pause, breathe, and remember their own bond with the natural world. Each painting is an offering of gratitude, a reflection of awe, reverence, and love for the planet.
As she once said:
"There are moments when a landscape is so beautiful it overwhelms me. My heart leaps—I want to be the rain, the wind, the clouds. But I’m just a human in a small body. So I paint."
