Clay Vorhes (born 1968 in Sacramento, CA) is a painter based in Sacramento, known for creating works that bridge the gap between abstraction and representation. His compositions often feature intricate networks of lines, which, at first glance, appear as geometric abstractions. As viewers move closer, however, they discover that these lines contain small figures—acrobats, gymnasts, dancers—who bring life and movement to the scene.
