About The Artist

Aly Ytterberg is a St. Louis-based artist known for her colorful, geometric landscapes inspired by nature and the memories tied to place. Working primarily in acrylic, she creates simplified scenes that evoke a sense of familiarity and nostalgia. Aly earned her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis, and her work can be found in private, corporate, and public collections across the country.

A mother of three young boys, Aly paints during nap times and embraces the balance between motherhood and art-making.

Her recent work is inspired by scenes discovered while driving through and exploring the American landscape. Drawn to overlooked places, old structures, and traces of human presence in nature, she intentionally leaves her landscapes open to interpretation. By avoiding specific locations, Aly invites viewers to bring their own memories and experiences to the work, creating a unique connection with each piece.
