About The Artist
Jelaine Faunce (b. 1971) is a contemporary artist working in acrylics (formerly in oils). After graduating with a B.A. in Fine Art from University of Nevada at Las Vegas in 1996, Jelaine spent several years as a muralist before transitioning to works on canvas in 2003. Taking from the traditional training she received at university, Jelaine’s initial focus was on directly representational realism in the Still Life genre. It was in 2013 that she began her current focus – to experiment with story-telling in her work, with humorous, nostalgic, and imaginative themes dominating. At this time, she also began to experiment with combining artistic styles, such as realism mixed with illustration – a trend she presently continues.
